ECFC News: ECFC Angler of the Month Contest The ECFC is replacing the multi-month Grand Poobah Fishing Derby ($20 entree fee) with a new ECFC Angler of the Month Contest in which every ECFC member and their family can participate for free. Details of the contest can be found in the link to this contest on the left of this page. It is important to emphasize that in order to participate and enter your catch you will have to use the ECFC Forums. If there are any questions regarding the competition, the use of the ECFC forums, or regarding how to post pictures, please feel free to get in touch with the forum adminstrator or with the tournament director. ECFC Charity Events The Third Annual ECFC East Cooper Meals on Wheels cook-out was held on Tuesday June 29, 2010. ECFC member Capt Eddie, volunteer with ECMOW and the main contributor of the filets, and several others prepared quality fish filets for the ECMOW recipients starting at 6:30 AM at the ECMOW location (Christ Church on Hwy 17N near Long Point rd). We provided approximately 250 (!) filets. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Our club in a nutshell. The ECFC was founded in the spring of 2007 (for more information see ECFC History). The main purpose of the club is to establish and further friendships within the fishing community (see ECFC Vision and Mission). Although, we are still relatively young, the club-related activities have generated numerous friendships, healthy rivalries, and lots of memorable fishing adventures (see ECFC Galleries). The ECFC meets every first Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the Point Hope United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Membership Dues. Dues have been established at $40.00 a year. Membership runs from January 1st to December 31st of each year. All new members are kindly requested to fill out a (new) membership application form for the 2010 season (click here to download) and send the form and a check to the address listed on the form. Forms will also be available at the clubmeetings where dues can be paid as well. Picture of the Week Sashimi Tuna for Dinner... ECFC member Terrapin (blue shirt) spent the last days of August (2010) in Panama City to fish for a few days aboard the Pipelayer, a 55’ Gwaltney (won the Big Rock Tournament in '03).
