I was in Sam's this afternoon and saw the have a nice looking, 12 foot, sit on top, fishing kayak with a paddle and a seat for about $250. If you are considering taking up the sport, this looks like a good starter yak that you will be able to keep for a spare or sell and get most of your money out of if you decide to upgrade later on.
The yak has two rod holders behind the seat, a front compartment and a back area for a crate or 5 gallon bucket.

I am interested in doing some yak fishing and appreciate the heads up.  what kind of yak do you have?  what size water do you use it in?

I have a Wilderness Ride 13.5 ft. I mostly use it in the Upper Wando and Shem Creek.  That's more because I am too lazy to paddle much further and they are easy places to put in.
